Pageantry and Performance

The Household Cavalry in a Celebration of Pictures

Photographs by Henry Dallal

Moving to London from Colorado in 1994, Henry was captivated by the household cavalry Mounted Regiment and has been photographing their daily life for the past six years. Henry has photographed them in all their ceremonial glory, whether it be at the Queen's Life Guard or escorting her majesty on state occasions. He has lived, breathed and captured on film every aspect of their unique daily lives- a world of vivid pageantry but also of tireless discipline and hard work. Reminding us that the Household Cavalry had another important role in armoured reconnaissance, and that it had excelled as a crack fighting force, ready and prepared for any military action.

Here are a few of the photographs.
