Hi!
In issue 74 of The Scribe in the article "Destroying Idols", I read the following:
"What makes Afghanistan head and shoulders above the rest of Islam? It is the Jewish connection of the Afghan people. "The Afghans have a tradition that they descend from the lost Ten Tribes. They were carried away by Buktunaser ... [and then from the ending] Naim Dangoor writes: Years ago I went to the Afghan Embassy in London to enquire if it was known that the Afghan Royal Family was of Jewish origin ... "
Actually, it appears like the Jewish tribe was not among the Ten Lost Tribes. The Jewish tribe instead seems to be one of the few remaining in the area currently known as Israel and Palestine. So I can assure you almost 100% that the Royal Afghan Family is of anything but Jewish origin. Their ancestors may very well have shared the same traditions though. There is a distinction between "The Twelve Tribes of Israel" and "The Jewish Tribe" (which is only one out of the twelve.)

with kind regards

Jens M Andreasen

In 1925, on his visit to Baghdad, King Aman Ullah Khan declared to a friend of mine that he (Aman Ullah Khan) was of the Tribe of Benjamin. I believe him, and I don¹t believe you.

THE SCRIBE

Hi!
Thank you for responding to my mail! The implication with your argument is that the Jews are descendants of the tribe of Juda[1] and not the tribe of Benjamin. The tribe of Juda was newer amongst the Ten Lost Tribes. The Tribe of Juda to the contrary has a track record from the days of the exile in Babylon all the way to present time. Allow me to set the stage with a different example: All Jews are descendants of Abraham, but not all descendants of Abraham are Jews. All Arabs are descendants of Abraham, but not all descendants of Abraham are Arabs... and then get back to subject at issue: Israel had twelve sons but not all of them were named Juda. So (assuming you are Jewish?): The Talibans of Afghanistan are more like your cousins than your brothers. I am not hoping for a happy family reunion anytime soon though.

Sincerely

Jens M Andreasen

[1]The southern tribes merged at a later date but kept the reference to Juda. The tribe of Benjamin belonged to the north.

Half the Tribe of Benjamin stayed with Judah and the other half was with the North. Strictly speaking, the Taliban are not of Jewish but Israeli origin.
THE SCRIBE

Hi! It appears like we have come to an understanding and (more or less) agree on the subject at issue :)
Sincerely
